I was able to visit CERN once again, in early 2008, before the much heralded switch-on of the Large Hadron Collider. People were everywhere, working hard to get the collider ready for the big day, then still more than six months away. These are some photographs from early 2008, taken in and around the accelerator as the works were progressing.
